My Story

Hey, y'all! My name is Katrina Williams, but you can call me Coach K. I was born and raised on the Southside of Funkytown, TX,...better known as Fort Worth, TX! My older brother, Brian, and I were raised by our amazing mother, Phyllis Williams, who always encouraged us to lead by example, be respectful, and DREAM BIG! Growing up in a single-parent household taught us the importance of hard work, creativity, and persistence. Although our circumstances were a bit rough, we experienced the greatest form of love and support. Our family instilled in us strong standards and morals that will never go away. Family is my greatest inspiration! Witnessing my family work together and sacrifice to help each other, is what initially planted the seed of SERVICE LEADERSHIP in my heart!

My upbringing and collegiate experiences are what sparked my passion for helping the youth! As a first-generation college student, I endured many failures due to a lack of information and not being properly prepared. When I walked across the stage to get my degree, I declared that I would bridge the gap between the community and college campuses. Immediately after graduation, I published my first book entitled, Memoirs of Virtue: The Evolution of a Scholar. In my book, I share my personal collegiate experiences, including my failures. I've filled my book with helpful tips and advice on how to handle various situations that college students may face. This book acts as a guide to help students smoothly transition from high school to college! It provides a support system for students as they transition from college to begin their own life journey.

I'm a TRUE TEXAN, so I value my FAITH, FAMILY, FOOD, and of course, FOOTBALL! It's safe to say that the Dallas Cowboys have played a huge role in my development! Everyone in my family has played sports, especially softball, so naturally, I also picked up a bat and glove at the age of 2. I've participated in softball, basketball, and track & field events throughout my entire life! Unfortunately, I never fulfilled my dreams of playing at the collegiate level due to a knee injury. Although my athletic competition days are over, I simply can't stay away from sports. The lights, the sound of whistles blowing, and sneakers squeaking on the hardwood floors bring me so much peace. I've continued to submerge myself in sports by coaching many youth league basketball teams and mentoring student-athletes. I also served as an Academic Coach for Division I student-athletes at Texas Christian University. My love for the game, teaching life skills, and preparing student for college and beyond is what inspired me to become a Student-Athlete Life Coach!

I genuinely love to see others WIN, especially the youth. My passion truly lies in working with people but especially student-athletes! I love working with traditional students and young adults as well. I've mentored and worked with numerous students for the past 16 years. I serve as a SPARK PLUG! I supply LIGHT in dark places to help others discover what’s already living inside of them. My mission is to help others realize their potential and capitalize on their opportunities! I value being an educator, a connector of people, and a conduit for change! My ultimate goal is to help others TRANSITION WELL!  My goal is to simply help them “GET STARTED" create a PLAN OF ACTION, take OWNERSHIP of their experience, and set a STANDARD for their journey!

I live for the LIGHTBULB MOMENT when they actually start to BELIEVE in themselves, and their GOD GIVEN GIFTS! I take the HOLISTIC approach to development and I place an emphasis on KINGDOM PRINCIPLES that build CHARACTER. I believe that it’s my duty to plant seeds of hope and serve as a support system to help others design their own unique PATHWAY to success. My greatest strength is the gift of being transparent. It allows me to relate to many students while still being able to specifically tailor unique ways of inspiring them. Through my many experiences, I've learned to speak with conviction in order to empower students. I want to help them overcome bondage, spread their wings, and discover their true path! Change is inevitable and someone has to plant positive seeds, so I choose to be that person.

Thank you so much for visiting my website. I look forward to hearing from you and working with you. Please remember to stay FOCUSED, TRUST GOD, and RESPECT THE PROCESS!
