ANOINTED BY GOD: "BEING AWARE OF YOUR ANOINTING"
GUIDING SCRIPTURE: 2 CORINTHIANS 1:21-22 (NIV) says, “For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God. Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.”
Many people recite taglines at the start of every month to describe their expectations for the month based on what has happened historically! The one that stands out to me the most is April SHOWERS, May FLOWERS! This one is perfect because it truly is a depiction of what I believe GOD intended for these months to represent.The showers in April waters the seeds that impact the growth and harvest in May! It’s a classic case of cause and effect! This makes me think about the seeds GOD ANOINTED and placed inside of us that’ll bloom at just the right time. I believe that GOD truly created us with love, intention, and purpose. Many would say that your GIFTS and your ANOINTING are one in the same but would politely disagree. I believe that he gave us GIFTS to use as tools to assist us as we transition, but ultimately I believe he ANOINTED us to OCCUPY a LANE that was designed specifically for us.
So today I want to pose the question, “Are you aware of your ANOINTING from GOD?”
If you haven’t quite discovered it yet, don’t worry, GOD will reveal it to you in due season. When it’s time GOD will ANOINT you in a unique way and truly ORDER YOUR STEPS! Being ANOINTED simply means that GOD EMPOWERS you to do the very thing he created you to do. The HOLY SPIRIT helps you to make decisions and complete tasks effortlessly. At times you might overlook GOD’S ANOINTING because you don’t always have to exert maximum effort, and that causes some of us to decrease the VALUE we place on what we’re called to do in life. So I just want you to know that uncommon FAVOR and WISDOM come as a packaged deal when you’re anointed. GOD goes before us to lay the foundation and prepare a space for us. As a result we get to experience new levels expeditiously. The things that you do with ease and have peace executing are most like the things you were anointed to do. A good rule of thumb is to be intentional with every single thing in your life because it all has purpose. ISAIAH 45:1-4 (NLT) says,“This is what the Lord says to Cyrus, his anointed one, whose right hand he will empower. Before him, mighty kings will be paralyzed with fear. Their fortress gates will be opened, never to shut again.This is what the Lord says: “I will go before you, Cyrus, and level the mountains. I will smash down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron. And I will give you treasures hidden in the darkness secret riches. I will do this so you may know that I am the Lord, the God of Israel, the one who calls you by name. And why have I called you for this work? Why did I call you by name when you did not know me?”
The crazy thing about being ANOINTED is the fact that others might be able to identify our anointing way before we catch wind of it.The reason why they see it so quickly is because they get to benefit from your anointing. Naturally we’re problem solvers, exploeres, and leaders that were predestined for this moment. ESTHER 4:14 says, “You were born for such a time as this.” GOD ANOINTS us to be a SOLUTION to a PROBLEM, but if we don’t recognize the POWER he has given us we will MISS THE MOMENT AND THE MESSAGE. This week, I want to encourage you to take a deeper look into everything you do and I want you to do it ALL WITH LOVE. Examine your actions and what you do on a daily basis to see how they’re aligned with GOD’S WORDS and how you naturally flow through certain situations. Be intentional about asking GOD to give you insight on what your gifts are and what he’s anointed you to do? Ask for clarity and a sense of awareness that will enhance your understanding?
